City of David

Tour Description:
The City of David is the name given to the city of Jebus after David conquered it and built his royal residence there. It is also called Zion. It is the southeastern part as well as the oldest part of Jerusalem. Our virtual tour takes you through the City of David excavations. You will see the remains of towers, walls, and palaces from the period of the Judean kings and the underground water system.
What have archaeologists – digging in Jerusalem’s ancient City of David – discovered? What archaeological discoveries were made at Gihon, and what connection may these have with the Bible record? Did King Hezekiah really build a tunnel into Jerusalem? What does the Bible tell of Jerusalem’s destruction in 607 B.C.E.? Why are Bible students interested in the location of the Pool of Siloam?
Tour Highlights:
The City of David is revealing some of the most exciting archeological finds of the ancient world. The tour of the City of David begins with a breathtaking observation point overlooking Biblical Jerusalem. As we move through the site, we come in contact with archaeological excavations and thrilling biblical finds that span thousands of years of history. The tour continues underground to the Gihon Spring. Visitors can virtually trek through King Hezekiah’s 2,700-year-old water tunnel, where water has flowed since the time of the prophets.
