“How long are the tours?”

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the tour, "He Causes to Become!" is about 3 hours long, including a break.

The Brooklyn Museum Bible Tour "The Ten Plagues" is about 1 hour.

“What is the dress code?”

Dress Code at all Museums: Casual, dignified clothes are fine. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended

Yes, you can take as many pictures as you like without flash.

“Can we record the tour?”

The Museum prohibits audio and video recordings. However, you can take as many notes as you like.

“Are food or drinks allowed?”

The Museum prohibits all outside food and drinks. However, the Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art has a nice café and restaurant available and your tour guide can also recommend good food spots nearby.

“How much does the tour cost?”

Adults: $25
Seniors (65+ with ID) $20
Students (Elementary, College included with valid ID): $15
Preschool (ages 1 and older): $5.00

College Students and Seniors should bring their proper ID card with them to the museum at the time of the tour.

All of the tour guides are volunteers and conduct these tours on their own time and are not paid to conduct these tours.  Many travel over an hour to the museum.  Most groups like to give at least $5-$10 per person as a show of appreciation.

“How can I get to the museum by car or public transportation? What about parking?”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located at 1000 5th Ave in Manhattan, at the cross street of East 82nd Street. By train, take the 4, 5, or 6 train to 86th Street, and walk three blocks west to 5th Avenue. The museum parking garage is located at 5th Avenue and 80th Street.  Parking at the museum will cost about $40.  For other parking options go to:  http://nyc.bestparking.com/

“Is there a place to keep our belongings during the tour?”

Yes, there is a coat check. However, although we have not had any incidents, precious valuables should not be left there. NOTE: Luggage will not be accepted or held at the museum.

“How much should I tip the tour guide?”

“How do I pay for the tour?”

All payments are processed by PayPal. You can pay for up to 20 persons, granted 20 spaces are available for the date and time of your choosing. A receipt will be emailed to you at the time of purchase. IMPORTANT: A copy of the email receipt should be presented to your guide at the time of the tour as a proof of purchase.
